Carice is a seasoned professional who is passionate about entrepreneurship, empowering people, growing leaders and helping people identify and operate in their strengths. Carice believes that leadership of self, others, and organisations is the answer to all of the challenges and opportunities in the world today.

Carice is the founder and Chief People Officer of Adore Hair and Beauty, a one-stop shop for black women and girls’ natural haircare needs. The vision for Carice’s business is to a) help black women and girls understand, embrace and maximise their natural hair, b) empower women and girls to create their own standard of beauty. 

Carice has lived in South Africa since 2011 and she has been a regular contributor on haircare for the nationally distributed and recognised Destiny Magazine since 2012. She was also a contributor for Shimmer by Motions Haircare magazine from May-December 2012. She has been featured sharing hair care tips and techniques on the Redi Tlhabi show on 702, SABC 1’s The Link TV show, The Citizen newspaper, and Dineo Ranaka’s reality show Dineo’s Diary. She was a proud member of the Healthy Hair Gurus (HHG), a group of bloggers and writers who were devoted to sharing healthy hair tips with women regardless of how they wear their hair (relaxed or natural). The HHG hosted South Africa’s 1st Healthy Hair Indaba in February 2014.

Carice has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketingfrom the University of Alabama and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Prior to moving to South Africa, Carice worked in human capital consulting for 8 years with Deloitte Consulting, Aon-Hewitt and Arthur Andersen. She spent three years working in leadership and performance management at Fulton County Schools as part of the Broad Residency in Urban Education fellowship. After moving to South Africa, Carice begin working as a Professional Development Manager for the Johannesburg office of McKinsey & Company. One of her roles was to serve as the Programme Manager for the McKinsey Leadership Programme. In this role, Carice conducted leadership trainings and coached seven cohorts of young leaders on topics of performance, vision, branding, purpose and career pathways.

Outside of her passion for entrepreneurship, empowerment, and leadership, Carice is an avid lover of spiritual books, traveling, spas, chocolate, and laughter.
